Just after I got back from Italy, everyone asked me: "Where did you go in Italy?". It's true that Rome is a lot more touristy than Naples but it doesn't mean Naples don't have the charm. When it comes to Italy, people are talking about Rome. How historic the city is, how romantic the romans and how great the city of Vatican. But Italy is not complete without Naples, one authentic city who's greatly known because of its pizza. When we talk about Italy we're mostly talking about food right? If you need to feed yourself with culture and history...Without any doubt, Rome is a really rich city when we are speaking about culture. Every 15 minutes walking probably you wanna stop and take a picture of a nice building, great fountains and stop a while for a museum. It's even hard to visit everything in 3 days. You need more. Not too mention you have Collosseum and Vatican City, each probably takes a whole day to visit. By the city itself, Naples offers a lot of museums as well, don't forget beautiful church you can see everywhere. Each hour you can hear the bell one after another just like a serenade. But when it comes to history, just 30 minutes by train from the city, you could visit Pompeii, everyone knows what is it. This amazing place is really huge, with a mindblowing history and undoubtly nice scenery. If you need to satisfy your palette...Rome is pretty multicultural, it is easy in this romantic city to get an italian food everywhere in the every street. Many restaurants claimed that they are the oldest and have the finest and the most authentic "typical" roman dishes. When you are talking about pizza, then you are talking about Naples. They say Napolians invented them. Personally I have to agree because even if I try a typical restaurant out of nowhere, you're still gonna say... "Mmm... Mammamia!" Pizzeria Vesi - Via San Biagio Dei Librai, 115, 80138 Napoli NA, Italy When you are a bit low on a budget...As a typical capital city, it's pretty normal for Rome to be a bit expensive. But actually if you go out a bit from the center you could find many cheap restaurants. Even though in Rome most of people speak decent English, don't forget to learn some basic sentences. Trust me they become 3 times nicer when you greet them with buon giorno (cari dah) than hey. For your stay it would be easy to find some Hostel or cheap hotels. You could also use my reference code for airbnb GET 25 USD OFF just click here! In Naples even if it is a touristic city, it is way cheaper than Rome. You could even find a mouthwatering Margherita only for 4-5€. Make sure you indulge yourself here while you can. With a decent price you could get a really nice place, mostly appartments but they are pretty nice. The cost really depends on what time you go but you could get yourself a good deal. When you need a bit of getaway...One place still in Rome, it's still a bit touristy though... it's a place in southwest of Rome called Trastevere. Here you could find some cheap bars with very good deal for the cocktails and shots! Many happy hours and what I love the most is actually the buildings. Somehow it looks different than Rome but still look really charming. If you ever heard about Amalfi, Positano or Sorrento then you get your way right. Those place are really pretty. The hills, the city are differents. It is actually pretty clean and the views are breathtaking. I will make a post about this cities later. These amazing places are so reachable from Naples. So... If you have time to go there what would you choose as a main destination? Or, if you were there before, what was your favorite?
